Present were: Tim O'Neill, Jim Berrie, Kellie Ruhter, Stan Arnold, and Chuck Wellensiek. Absent were: Ron Emken and Christie Osentowski. Dan and Rhonda reported to the board. Financial report was available to the board. Fall hours: Beginning on September 2 the clubhouse will open at 8:00 a.m. and close 1/2 hour after sundown. Please be courteous to the limited fall staff as everyone that closes either has to be at the clubhouse the next morning, go to school or has another full time job. Effective September 1st: All persons wanting to run a tab will be required to leave their debit or credit card with one of the staff. This means everyone! Please do not ask the staff to play favorites. This policy was voted on and passed by the Board of Directors, 9/10/08. Also on this policy, if a member or guest causes any problems with a tab kept, this courtesy will no longer be available to the person involved. THANKS MICHELLE: Michelle Schutte the assistant manager at Centura Hills has taken a job in Ravenna at the bank and will be leaving Centura Hills on October 8. We wish Michelle good luck with her new job. Thanks Michelle for your smiling face in the clubhouse during the last two seasons , we'll miss you and best of luck. LEAGUE NEWS: Men’s League: As of the writing of this newsletter I have no information on league champions for men's league. Couple’s League Thanks to everyone that came out for the last couple's golf night on August 29. What a blast!!! It will be the first annual, so next year's bash will be on August 28. Be on the look out for Hawaiiian attire and goofy golf clothes during the year. Anyone that has suggestions what could be added or other ideas let Rhonda know. Thanks again for the great response. Prime Rib Dinner - This year the prime rib dinners will begin a month early. This year's first dinner will be held on October 11. This year the Prime Rib dinners will be on the second Saturday (October through March) of the month. The menu will consist of Prime Rib or Chicken, Potato, Salad, Dinner Roll and dessert. This is on a reservation basis. Your reservations must be called into the clubhouse by the Thursday prior to the dinner. Reservations for October need to be made by Thursday evening 7:00 p.m. October 11. We will start serving @ 6:00 p.m. and serve until 9:00 p.m. Members and their guests are always welcome to these Prime Rib dinners. The dinners are a way to stay in touch with our members during the winter months and bring extra revenue to the club during the winter. Any questions concerning these dinners, please call the clubhouse and speak with Rhonda. Personal Carts: During the summer we received comments from members that maybe their personal cart was being used without their knowledge. The clubhouse staff unfortunately has little control over friends that believe they are able to use a buddy's cart. When they do not rent a cart from the course we try to ask if they owe trail fees and who's cart they are borrowing. The cart owner is responsible for telling their friends when borrowing a cart at Centura Hills you must pay trail fees for that cart. If you have any suggestions how to patrol this, please visit with Rhonda or one of the board members. Club Handicap Tournament: Winners were: Men's Low Gross: 1st - Dave Fries, 2nd - Tom Northup, 3rd - Garrett Rathke, and 4th - Dave Huston Men's Low Net: 1st - Kevin Willey, 2nd - Tom Northup, and Tie for 3rd - Roger Wooden, Dave Fries and Tim Willey, 6th - Don Deines Women's Low Gross: 1st - Rhonda Myers, 2nd Becky Deines, 3rd - Kathy Arent, 4th - Sally Anderson Women's Low Net: 1st - Becky Deines, Tie for 2nd - Kathy Arent and Cindy Willey, Tie for 4th - Kathy Baasch and Deb Obermiller Congratulations Everyone Thanks to everyone who played in the tournament. Present were: Tim O'Neill, Chuck Wellensiek, Jim Berrie, and Tim O'Neill. Absent were Stan Arnold and Kellie Ruhter. Sue Shalberg was not available to give the financial report. Dan and Rhonda reported to the board. Dan is asking members to please take only the # of carts needed for the amount of golfers. (Example - 4 golfers with 4 carts - please use only 2 carts) This saves gas and expenses on our course carts and also limits the wear and tear on the course. It was decided by the board that 1/2 price membership will be available starting July 15. Members if recruiting a new member during this time, you still qualify for a .00 voucher to use in the clubhouse. Couple’s League Well I can't believe it's about August when I'm writing the newsletter and at the end of August couples league will be done. The last night of couples league will be August 29. I'd like to end the summer couples league with a special evening with food, games and karoke. But need some input whether the league is interested in something like that. I'd be looking for reservations with at least 20 couples by August 15 to make it happen. We will have a meeting on Friday, August 1 before couples league to see if there is interest. If you're not able to attend August 1 couples call or e-mail and visit with Rhonda. Jr. Lessons: Junior lessons had their Fun Day Scramble on Tuesday morning, July 15.
